OUR MISSION
OUR VISION
OUR MESSAGE
Our mission is to provide shelter, food and medical care to homeless, neglected and previously abused cats within the Gauteng area.
Cat Village does not receive any government funding and is totally dependent on fundraising and donations to continue our work.
To be able to manage such an organisation needs dedication, from early morning feeding, cleaning, maintenance, medicating, vet visits, buying food. These are just a few of the everyday tasks at Cat Village and something for which Irma Teller is solely responsible.
Our goal for the future is to create a sustainable income for the sanctuary,
to enable us to feed the best food we can afford, to be able to pay our Veterinary costs, which even discounted are high, to maintain a high standard of upkeep and maintenance and to be able to pay the wages of 5 workers. It goes without saying that it costs a lot of money to maintain all of this.
Cat Village is a pro-life, non-profit organisation.
Cat Village also has a few outreach projects,
we have supported people who can’t afford to look after their cats for example local pensioners who have fallen on hard times. We have taken in cats from a nearby caravan park, to sterilize and feed and keep as our own. We welcome any school who visits Cat Village as we feel that by educating children to be responsible pet owners will ultimately help alleviate the enormous problem of cruelty to animals.
We receive no official funding and rely entirely on the generosity of individuals for funds.
Cat Village is a registered PBO, any donations made to Cat Village are tax deductible, tax receipts are issued on request.
